His artworks are a mixture of neo-impressionism with vibrant colors. Sometimes his rural or urban genre scenes have a more naive and even a nuance or folkloric touch, especially his characters, but always with a profusion of color.
Yvon PROVOST (1935)
He is born in 1935 in Montreal. Student at the School of Fine Arts in Montreal from 1952 to 1957, he also worked as a freelance graphic designer and made an advertising career with these skills for over 40 years.
He has participated in several symposia in Quebec and continues to do so.
In 1976, he founded an art school in Montreal. His works are exhibited in several renowned galleries.
Yvon Provost began painting early, and he soon became passionate about the Impressionists from whom he drew inspiration to become familiar with our Canadian scenes.
He has been teaching oil, acrylic and pastel for 10 years.
He is a member of the APPL – Association of Professional Painters of Laval and member of the RAAV- group of artists in Visual Arts of Quebec.
